Dehcho First Nations has been proactive in establishing ground protection through employment of its Dehcho K’ehodi. In addition to the five management board members and 4 community coordinators, each community has 2 Guardians working on the land to help with youth mentoring, patrolling, cabin installation, and ecological monitoring. Dehcho First Nation’s extensive Dehcho K’éhodi Guardian program contributes to Edéhzhíe monitoring and stewardship programs.
